My great-great-great-grandfather built the house in 1890 year, in village Zabdje. My great-great-grandmother made the dress and vest with love, which I inherited last year. My grandmother and mother are appearing with me in the video. The house is a stage for the process of reliving memories, reconnecting with ancestors’ cultural background and reestablishing broken national identity on a subjective level. The process of dressing is individual form of cultural initiation and personal attempt to communicate with family past.

The sound of the woodcutting is appearing in the second part of the video. The woodcutting is going on, in the background, until the wood falls down crashing. The sound represents the relation between new system and cultural heritage. The process of cutting down the old, inherited forest and selling the wood for the commercial purposes is very common these days. This kind of behavior was unacceptable in time when my ancestors lived. The cultural and spiritual heritage was a matter of integrity, honor and identity nurturing.
